Wow, I haven't updated since Feb 4....Well, I guess so much has been going on I haven't really felt like updating a whole lot. At least not untill I got the chance to get a good start on a doujinsho project, which is going pretty well for a rough draft. The comic is turning out to be rather long, more then likely 60 pages or more. I've split it into three separate parts, and I am well into the second. I'll be sure to post a few pages of the rough, though you really shouldnt peek since it's all really crappy quality and it's purpose is to help me plan for a final. Ah, I forgot to mention that it is a battle between Itachi and Pein during the timeskip. With the recent information on Itachi finally flowing, I feel I am prepared, and am working on a script to please fans of both. But really, it's mostly just because I wanted to do a doujinsho battle, since Free-energy really helped inspire me. I don't plan to start posting the final untill I am well ahead of it, and I am sure that I'll be able to keep intrest in this. Once it's done, I'll move onto a few other projects I look forward to.

Aside from that, the aura *or whatever* smells great; what I mean is that when I go outside the smell in the morning and afternoon reminds me of a lot of good times from the previous years, mostly summer related. My birthday is this friday, and I'll be 16. Damn, already? I am not too excited though, it's not that big a deal. A lot of friends will probably come to my house, and we'll play something like Halo 3 or Gears of war or Super Smash Bros Brawl. Pizza, etc. Man, I've got to go get my license EVENTUALLY...some day :P

Well, recent things I've plunged back into include MEGA MAN *Rockman* Battle Network series, especially 3. Bass/Forte is totally badass, and I always enjoyed the EXE series. Then there is Inuyasha, which is actually coming to an end in the manga. MY GOD. Unbelivable. I loved all the characters from that so much, and it was my first/2nd anime I ever saw some 10 years or more ago. First was DBZ I think..*ahem* Anyway, there's all that and playing a lot of Brawl lately; I "Pwn" everyone long as I am MetaKnight :P Fun for the whole family! I managed to quit an online game, Cabal. It was fun while it lasted, but such a collosal waste of time and meanigingless lvling that I finally decided to get off it and enjoy some console games and maybe even play some M.U.G.E.N.

Well, I'll probably update this journal later; I'm in school right now. *Chuckles* My teacher apparently doesent mind that I managed to get through the blocks onto deviant art.

Ah, and thank Free-Energy! He was awesome inspiration, and always tells me to have fun with what I am doing.

Thank you so much man! I pride myself on accomplishing my goals no matter how long and how difficult they are. Doing a spin off on Pein would be awesome, but there is still so much yet to be revealed about him. It's so nice of you to take the time to talk to everyone still.

That's so bloody awesome you'd help me so much ^^ I think I might upload the doujin pages, but I am still unsure. Anyway, my computer had a complete meltdown recently and I am on a friends right now. I promise to contact you as soon as I fix mine. I am really looking forward to your critique!!

Oh man, that's sounds like a lot more than I have done. That's very ambitious! To be honest, Pein is one of my favorite characters to draw so I wish I was doing more with him, like in a manga or something, but oh well, glad to help ya.

And I may not know too much, but I'll take the time to help anyone who's willing to also take the time. And I don't know too many people here that also talk to me very much, so it's great for me too.

You shouldn't be afraid to post them, since they will be temporary, but my email's on my front page if you wanna send it to me. Again, it might take me a while to get back to ya and I may have to print it out and rescan it with any notes I put on it since I can't imagine doing all that on the computer.

^___^ Thats a great story man, I always get inspired by you. Aye, I do have the first 24 rough draft pages done. I have a few more pages, but I just took them out because they werent very interesting. I'm too ashamed to post my rough draft pages, but I'd be more then happy to scan them and send them to you to hear what you think and ideas. At the moment, trying to draw the backgrounds that I envisioned is really tricky, hundreds of pipes connecting to buildings and kind of spreading out. As far as the story is right now, I'd say 1/3rd drawn ^^; and I am really looking forward to getting to a few parts.

I always fear giving up; I'm not very good and there's just so much to learn to get good at that I can feel overwhelmed at times. But, I've vowed that if it kills me, no matter how long it takes, that I'll become a Mangaka.

And thanks for letting me know how you clean up your pictures ^^ I was thinking you had some sort of way of putting in those action lines via photoshop or something; I personally enjoy drawing them anyway of course ^^.

Anyway, your such a great help. I don't have many friends around here that can draw Manga/Anime or realism; and even less who talk the time to help me out. I really owe you! And if you want to see the rough pages, let me know! It wouldn't be a problem scanning them and sending them to you. :D

I'm still trying to get to that sense of accomplishment myself, but I just hope I finish since I keep nitpicking over all the details. That's a heckuva gift though if you're able to translate to picture exactly what you visualize in your head, I would love to learn how to do that, since it always turns out a little different than what I think of. And yeah, good call, that's why i need to start leaving my comfort zone too, so I can get better.

And there's was a point in my life where I completely STOPPED drawing actually. There's was 2-years right near the end of high school that I really thought drawing wasn't for me anymore and just stopped. I wasn't getting excited about creating anything and nothing had interested me enough (not even all the anime i watched) to make me want to draw for that long, until I was in college for a while and my friend introduced me to Naruto. I liked it so much, that I started drawing it, and around that time, my gf was drawing a lot of anime too, so it all together motivated me to start drawing again. And then of course a couple years after that, I finally gave dA a chance, and it's great to have a place where so many people share the same love of anime and manga. So all in all, I'd have to say I got through it by coming across people and things that motivated me to do it, so always look for something that you're totally in love with.

And what I use to clean up my pics is exactly what you just wrote. Rough sketch--->Sketch---->Ink--->Scan---->;Photoshop. The action lines and effects are also all drawn.

And no hurry, but when you do a rough page up, i'll try to help you figure out more of that kinda thing. Can't wait! ;)

Man, you nailed spot on! I can't forget why I wanted to do this in the first place! Not for anyone else, but for me to have the experience of drawing it. The fun and sense of accomplishment at the end, and of course the practice that its giving me. I'd be happy either way, and if people like it and both the Itachi and Pein fans think it interesting and even mildly canoical worthy then awesome.

I think about this kind of fight all the time, and my brain can imagine the fast pace; drawing its a lot tougher. But it makes me a better artist in the end! I mean, if all I draw is what I am good at, how can I get any better?

And yeah, your work gives me ideas, confidence, and more. I want to do the same that you've done to me in the future, but for now I am going to focus on getting better and better, no matter how tough it is. And out of curiosity, did you ever have a point in your life were you had a really really hard time drawing? How did you get through it? And while I'm at it, what do you use to clean up your manga pages? Photoshop and then erasing everything but the lines you want, right? And knowing how you get your action lines, effects, etc. would be a great help in planning the end.

Again, I look forward to doing more of this project. I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it too!

Hey, don't worry too much about the fans, make sure YOU are happy with your doujin first above anyone else. With me, I gotta tell ya - I create my doujin for my sake first of all, before I worry about others and what they think, it's cool that it's liked, but if I'm not happy with it, it doesn't matter who likes it, that's kinda why it's taking me so long with mine ^^;. If you're not having fun with it, just remember to stop!

I'm glad my work can inspire you though, I'm most glad I can pass it on though, because that's what Kishi's work did for me. And it's never a waste of time as long as we're talking about art.

Thank you so much man! The final wont be done for a while, so Ive decided to have as much fun with the rough draft, while trying to fit in all I want. What I really wanted for this was a lot of close combat scenes, which for me is really tough. I wanted to make sure I got in a good 7 or more pages of pure close combat; no illusions or jutsus involved till the conclusion of them. It almost stressed me out because for a little bit, I forgot the main reason I wanted to do it in the first place. *Fun, :P* But now Ive gotten to the point were I have the most fun; jutsus and beautiful shots such as the one you did in my request ^^. The only thing that still kind of bugs me is how a lot of fans will feel about it. Whether or not I can make it believable to both sides without simply favoring one over the other; something you did really well with your Itachi vs Orochimaru Doujinsho ^^ You were totally right about working on something and feeling like you have to do it, without any fun.

Also, I have to let you know that just seeing your deviations increases my skills and understandings exponentially. I love drawing cloaks as for as clothing goes, and jutsu techniques pure fun.You show all of those off a lot, along with scenes that I usually have trouble with but that, thanks to you, get better and better at. The scene I explained turned out, well, rather ugly when I tried to draw it. You helping me out, well thats the best help I could ever ask for :D I try to avoid asking for too much help though. Thank you so much, and take as much time as you need! I'd hate if I was taking up your time ^^;

Just make sure you enjoy it the entire time you work on it. It's the worst not liking something you're working on but feeling like you have to do it.

And yeah, my rule was no more requests if I've done one for you already, but if you need help doin a scene I can definitely draw out something rough to help. If it helps you develop the skill, then I'll be glad to. Just be aware that I don't have all the time in the world, so it might take a while.

That sounds like an awesome scene though and I'm already picturing the crazy possibilities.
OK, well, i'll give it a shot when I've got the time, so please be patient ^^;

OH GOD I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! :D Its so beautiful..and the addition of Kisame was great! It looks like a work done directly by Kishimoto himself! I am so happy with it, I printed it off and hung it on my wall above my computer. It gives me inspiration for drawing this exciting fight, and the rough draft is "roughly" 1/3 done with a few tweaks. I look forward to the day I finish it, and work through on the Final. The Fancomic is dedicated to you of course, as you continue to inspire me!

Ah, and I know you cant really do any more requests from me, but I was really hopeing you could help me draw a particular scene at a good angle. I tried, and even looked for reference, but it came out so bad in the rough. I just don't think I have the necessary skill to draw it.

What is happening now:
An Itachi Bunshin jumped and jammed his kunai into the Pein with the long hair's throat *one that was kicked by Jiraya, had his eyes closed, etc.* and they are now falling from a great height in the air down far to the ground, buildings around them. *The pipeings of course everywere* Anyway, I cant seem to draw this. The Pein uses his large sharp katana like thing that they used on Jiriya to impale the bunshin through the stomach as they fall, and the bunshin promptly explodes, apparently taking that Pein with him. Though, not so much...

Anyway, I wanted to know if you could draw me a quick sketch of that going down. Nothing pretty, just some guidelines, or anything. I have looked for help everywhere and this is one of the pictures that I have such a hard time drawing.

If not, I understand that you are a busy man ^^ Thank you SO VERY MUCH for doing my request, its by far my favorite drawing I've seen on DA and will remain on my wall for eternity. Or, until I move, which in that case I'll just take it.

Sincerely,
Noah

*Sheds a tear*
Spoilers confirmed. Itachi fought the good fight, and in the end he defeated Sasuke and Orochimaru together really... it looks like his body couldn't hold up. This Friday will be a sad conclusion. *Pokes forehead* Just like Maes Hughes. Rest in piece Itachi, if this is the end. You showed us your pure bad-assery. We fans will miss you, especially me. I promise to do as many fanarts of Itachi as I can, until I have mastered drawing him.

A joke I came up with a little while ago, when I was pondering about what would happen if Itachi did manage to take Sasuke's eyes out. I started thinking, and realized that it was bloody impossible to surgically implant another's eyes into your sockets and have them work :P Then again, in Naruto theirs all sorts of medic nin so who knows.

Anyway, I had fun doing this and I loved the top Panel the most, as I got to draw Amaterasu and that Kirin/chidori like thing around Sasuke. Both amazingly awesome to draw ^^. Also, although AGAIN it turned out a bit messy, I still like it. I REALLY need to get some 0.5 inking pens or something so that I can do line art, but oh well. Ah, and by the way in case you didn't notice that is Kabuto (or Kaburochi) in the 2nd panel. Why? I have no idea. He really does not need a reason, other then being a medic and in a doctors coat :P

Ah yes, Paco- er, Kisame is in the final panel ^^; I can't have the two Akatsuki members separated. I see a lot of mistakes now, AFTER I post it of course. I may come back and color this, though don't count on it since I have no idea how to color ^^;. I wish the chibi's arms had looked a bit more real and a little less like stick figures XD. Notice though Itachi's eyes in the first panel, blind like in the recent chapters :P

And, as with most of my pictures, there's a hidden image in here :P It's a technique, not a character. Winner may receive a special prize~! *Scratches head* Or, the satisfaction of finding it...whatever floats your boat :P

Another long comment, but in closing I hope anyone who see's this enjoys it, and I hope my skills as an artist are developing. I would pluck my own little brother Colten's eyes out for the drawing skills of Masashi :P Heck, I'd settle for being able to draw human bodies without them completely failing. Now that I think about it, Colten's eyes look just like mine, blue and...er, nothing ^^:; Ah, notice the "Kabuto" herb plant thing that Itachi is facing due to blindness? Kabuto is a type of herb in Japanese that can either heal you or kill you, so I thought it was fitting to have him facing it for gags.

P.S. Look out for a picture of Itachi, non chibi! Tis being inked by Yunyin-chan for me ^____^
